CERTIFICATE IN COMPUTER SKILLS LEVEL 2 These regulations should be read in conjunction with the Institute's Academic Regulations. | 1. | Admission and Entry | | 1.1 | Subject to the requirements set out in clauses 1.2 of these regulations there is open entry to this programme, although candidates must demonstrate a reasonable likelihood of success. Consult clause 2.3.5 of the Academic Regulations regarding admission to entry level programmes. | | 1.2 | Applicants must be New Zealand citizens or have New Zealand Permanent Resident status to be eligible for entry to this programme. | | 1.3 | Candidates are required to be 16 years of age or over at the commencement of this programme. |
| 2. | Enrolment | | 2.1 | Candidates are required to attend an introductory facilitation class in order to complete their enrolment on the programme. On completion of enrolment candidates will receive tutorial support and on-line access. | | 2.2 | Each module requires a combination of classroom and self-directed study. | | 2.3 | Modules may be studied individually, consecutively or concurrently. | | 2.4 | The duration of module enrolment is to be for a period not exceeding 16 weeks from the time of enrolment to the time of completion. |
| 3. | Informal and Formal Transfer of Credit | | 3.1 | Informal transfer of credit may be considered on a case by case basis for this programme. | | 3.2 | Formal transfer of credit may be considered on a case by case basis for this programme. |
| 4. | Programme Requirements | | 4.1 | Each candidate's programme of study shall comprise compulsory modules totalling a minimum of 60 credits from section 8 of these regulations. | | 4.2 | Candidates for the National Certificate in Computing Level 2 may elect to complete unit standard assessments totalling 40 credits from those listed in section 8, these must include unit standard 2780 and 2781 which are compulsory for the National Certificate. |
| 5. | Completion of the Programme | | | A candidate may take up to three years to complete this programme, unless an extension is granted by special permission of the Head of School or designated equivalent, or authorised nominee. |
| 6. | Assessment | | | Assessment in this programme is competency based; therefore, aegrotat consideration is not available. |
| 7. | Award of the Qualification and the National Certificate | | 7.1 | Candidates who successfully complete the requirements in clause 4.1 of these regulations will be awarded the Certificate in Computer Skills Level 2. | | 7.2 | Candidates who successfully complete the requirements in clause 4.2 will also be eligible to apply to NZQA for the award of the National Certificate in Computing Level 2. |
